My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and grounded. My hope is that in listening compassionately to your unique experience, I will provide guidance in shifting limiting patterns, while accessing your wisdom, strength and own healing resources. I will work with you within a client-centered and relational approach, which is intended to provide the safe space needed for healing. With empathy and understanding, and centering on your unique needs, building on your strengths, focusing on solutions, developing new skills and insights, I help explore difficult issues together, supporting you in overcoming the limits and blockages that keep you stuck in old, troubling patterns.
For example, on the FEELING level, I address the anxiety, shame, depression and low self-esteem that come with having an eating disorder. On the THINKING level, I help reduce obsessing about calories, carbohydrates, fat grams, the gym and the scale. With the BODY, I help with body image and viewing yourself in the mirror more positively and accurately. With EMPOWERMENT, I help you find your voice, using boundaries, recognizing and honoring your needs, and helping to create healthier coping skills. My focus is to help normalize eating and change your relationship with food, your body and yourself, to a healthier and happier level.
Often, there is more than one issue going on that needs to be addressed with therapy and, as needed, nutrition. So in addition to food, weight and body image issues, I can help with relationship challenges, addictions, life transitions, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety.
I have collaborative and positive relationships with physicians, psychiatrists and dietitians in the community, who also specialize in eating disorders.

I see several Indiana University students who take anywhere from 3-4 weeks off at the semester...
