Hydration

Warmer weather is around the corner, so staying hydrated is very important. People who have eating disorders may be involved in one or more behaviors (restricting food intake, purging, over exercise, laxative abuse) that can add to dehydrating the body.

The body is made up of more than 60 percent water. Believe it or not, food has more to do with hydration than the amount of water you drink per day. If you are not getting proper nutrition, your body walks around in a dehydrated state. If you are not eating enough food, then your body simply cannot hold on to the water it needs even if you are drinking a lot of water per day.
